Tourching Story Of A Winner - Victor Moses

This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna.

Moses parents were missionaries until they met their untimely death in the year 2002 Kaduna riot. He was 11 years old when this fate behold him. Moses left to play football but returned home and never saw his parents again.Thereafter he was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident.

Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football never wavered. He continued to explore his football skills. He played football for his school and for a local Tandrige League club until he was approached by Crystal Palace FC. He football career progressed from that moment.

In the year 2005 till 2010 he played for England under 16, 17, 19, and 21 team scoring 11 goals during this period. He plays for Chelsea now.

When the call to serve his fatherland came, he embraced Nigeria without holding unto the unforeseen incident that happened to his parents. That is patriotism. He dumped England because he loves his country, he had faith in this country and he forgave this country.

Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage. He never gave up on his country. He persevered… That is purpose!

Today Moses Victor is one of the members of Super Eagles that brought joy to every Nigeria by winning the African Cup of Nation.

If someone like Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we!
